In 1986, an amateur acting group known as the Lakeside Players performed their first play “Oklahoma”. For 10 more years Lakeside Players continued performing 4 plays annually. Almost 20 years later this organization was resurrected and renamed Alexander City Theatre II (ACT II).

A non-profit 501©3 organization, this venue stages some of most consistently high-quality performances around.

Located on Tallapoosa Street, this theater is Alexander City’s Off-Broadway company, an intimate alternative to the larger more traditional theater groups. ACT II provides a creative home and inspiring environment where actors, directors, writers, designers, and theater lovers converge to create works that celebrate the human spirit.
