What a Wonderful World Presented by Alex City Arts
February 10 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Location: CACC Betty Carol Graham Technology Center
Louis Armstrong is perhaps the most important figure in the history of American music and is certainly one of the most recognizable. He wrote many jazz songs that have become standards and won 11 Grammy Awards as well as the Lifetime Achievement Award. Longineu Parsons is one of the world’s finest trumpeters and when he interprets Armstrong, he goes far beyond what can be studied and learned. The way he touches the trumpet and growls his vocals is as though he is channeling the great master of American music. In this spellbinding tribute concert, Longineu Parsons and his band will lovingly per-form Louis Armstrong classics such as “Basin St. Blues,” “Hello Dolly,” and, of course, “What a Wonderful World.” Parsons has electrified audiences with his Louis Armstrong tribute from Europe to South America to Carnegie Hall!
